Driver Shot In Head Before Crashing Car Into New Haven Home's Front Porch

Police are asking for tips after a Connecticut man was found in shot in the head inside a car that had crashed into a New Haven home, officials said. 

A 21-year-old man who crashed his car near the intersection of Goodyear Street and West Read Street was shot in the head before the wreck, police said.

New Haven Police were called to the area of Goodyear Street and West Read Street after a car crashed into the a home's front porch around 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6. They arrived to find the  driver, a 21-year-old West Haven man, with a bullet wound in his head. 

Paramedics rushed him to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where doctors are treating him for life-threatning injuries, New Haven Police said. He was listed in critical but stable condition on Monday.

Police have not released the man's name. 

Investigators collected evidence from the scene and spoke with people involved. Detectives ask anyone with information in the shooting to contact police at 203-946-6304 or through the the anonymous tip-line at 866-888-TIPS.
